Wicked

“Why aren’t you obeying the laws of physics?” he demanded, finally addressing me.

I realized a few blocks ago that he was following me but I played it cool. I stopped walking and turned to face him. “How do you know I don’t? And which laws?”

“Oh,” he began, a wicked smile on his face, “we… I know.”

“Who’s asking? And why are you following me?”

He looked me in the eye. “I want to know. And that answers both questions.”

I wasn’t quite sure if he was trying to intimidate me. I was getting mixed signals. I could sense masked fear. “Only you?” I was stalling. I knew the question was merely a trap.

I didn’t think he expected my probing. For a moment, he seemed uncertain. I glared at him as he started to say yes. I recognized I had the upper hand. “My brothers and me,” he finally answered, looking around anxiously.

It was meant to be threatening. I presumed he didn’t know much about me. “Are you sure y’all want to know?” I smirked. I enjoyed taunting them, especially inexperienced young warlocks.

He nodded firmly. “Yes!” he replied, trying to sound and look menacing.

“Those laws of physics do not apply to me!” I floated up and hovered a couple of meters up in front of him. Before he could do anything, I pointed my ring at him, its huge gem shone blindingly. He disintegrated into ashes and the wind blew away all signs of his existence.

“Laws of physics my behind.” I cackled. “This sorceress rocks!”

Prompt: “Why aren’t you obeying the laws of physics?”
Above has 261 words. I also wrote a much shorter version with 65 words (below).

“Why aren’t you obeying the laws of physics?” he demanded.

“You’re seriously asking?” I smirked, floated up and hovered a couple of meters up in front of him. Before he could do anything, I pointed my ring at him, its huge gem shone blindingly. He disintegrated into ashes and the wind blew away all signs of his existence.

“Silly warlock.” I cackled. “This sorceress rocks!”
